"Alla Madonna del Piatto" is a small agriturismo - a farmhouse inn - spectacularly located in the hills surrounding Assisi. The centuries old farmhouse faces the sunny south and has a spectacular view of Assisi's world famous basilica, dedicated to St. Francis and housing Italy's most important medieval art treasures. Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns like Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Perugia are all within easy reach, as is Tuscany's splendid Renaissance city Siena and the Chianti wine region. The geographic location and good connecting trains also allows for day excursions to Urbino, Florence and Rome. The six guestrooms -all ensuite -are elegantly furnished with antiques, wrought iron beds and Persian rugs.For those who don't mind trading a few hours of sightseeing for the chance to tinker in an Italian kitchen, the agriturismo offers fun cooking classes in English.This farmhouse is in a perfect spot for enjoying the peace of the countryside, or for exploring the treasures of nearby Assisi. The Italian-Dutch owners are multi-lingual and are on hand to help you make the most of your stay in Umbria.
