Avigliano Umbro is a small town in near Terni. It has roman origins, since its territory was crossed by the Via Amerina and Via Ulpiana, which connected Todi with the Etruria region. Avigliano offers many monuments adn churches, but the Foresta fossile of Dunarobba is a must for every tourist coming to Avigliano. It contains fossilized sequoia, which used to grow in Italy around one million years ago. The peculiarity resides in the fact that fossilized trees lay vertical, while everywhere else they are fallen to the ground.
