Description:
Benvenuti al casale San Martino. In the "green heart" of the Umbrian landscape we have restored our old farm house, into four self-catering apartments, for 2, 4 or 6 guests. The Casale San Martino is on the top of a hill, 400 m above sea level, with a breath- taking view. Towards the Tiber Valley south-east and north-west you see the beginning of the Apennine chain of the mountains. There are lovely walks to be done in the woods, or down to our pond where you will find a gymnastic track and benches just to relax and admire the view. The casale is surrounded by a huge garden with a fence; there you will find the private parking place, the barbecue, the playground for the children and the swimming pool, 11 x 5.5 meters, open from mid May. Each apartment has its own private garden or terrace with garden furniture. The apartments are all comfortably furnished and there is a TV, individually heating system and a fully equipped kitchen. The laundry will be changed and the apartment cleaned once a week. Around the casale we have wine yards and olive grows, it is green and very peaceful here. I am Louise from Sweden, running this agriturismo since 10 years. I am living in Italy since 40 years with my Italian family. Languages spoken are: Italian, English, Swedish, French, German and some Spanish.

The medieval village of Calvi dell' Umbria is at a distance of 1.5 km or 15 minutes by foot. The old part of the village is intact and walking up and down the stairs will take you back in time. There are to be visited the museum, the monastery, the ceramic crib, the churches with some beautiful antique minor art works. In the village you will also find the food shops you need, a pizzeria, a bar, a post office, a bank, a doctor, a pharmacy and the police station. From Calvi dell' Umbria you can reach Rome by car in 50 minutes or by train (the train station is within 12 km) and also Orvieto and Spoleto. More close there is Otricoli with its antique ruins from the Romans, Narni a must, the Marmore waterfalls and many, many other places to see, that I will be happy to tell you more about. There are several restaurants with typical dishes and wine from this area. On the 11th of May the patron San Pancrazio is celebrated for four days, with a procession in medieval clothes. At Corpus Domini, normally the first Sunday in June, everybody is out on the street to make the flower carpet, which goes all across the village.
