Welcome to the "Locanda di Rovicciano". The owners Andrea and Katiusca welcome you to the wonderful XVII Century Inn, totally built with stones and located at the foot of the Martani Hills, next to the countryside of Trevi and Montefalco, dipped into the valley where Rovicciano stream flows.

Falling in love with the old manor, we have decided to renew it carefully, paying special attention to the ancient materials and taking care of each single detail in order to create a charming, comfortable and authentic place for us to live there and for the people who come to know us. It was our dream and we made it come true. It's the reason why we love our job and our customer deserves our respect.

The structure is situated in an isolated place next to the town of Castel Ritaldi. It's surrounded by a charming landscape and located in the lands of Sagrantino wine and olive oil from Umbria.

Our rates:

Prices are per person per day: special offerts at Christmas and Easter on request. Prices include light, heating, linen and final cleaning. Children until 3 year old don't pay.

Services:

The restaurant, obtained from the old canteens, still has an ancient stone tub which was used to squeeze grapes; original oak beams and ancient brick arches. We decided to create a small place, a comfortable and familiar place to live in, as we like it. We have obtained a big fireplace in one of the three rooms to recreate the atmosphere of the past in the winter evening and enjoy it together with our guests.

All our products are fresh: seasonal fruits and vegetables, first quality and local meats and cheeses, fresh home-made pasta and sweets. During the summer, the restaurant moves to the open air where you can taste glasses of wine together with sweets or appetizers sitting on the sofas and armchairs of our charming garden. You will enjoy the family and relaxing atmosphere until late, surrounded by glow-worms and crickets sing. Our inn never closes!

Cooking Courses

Thanks to his large experience both in Italy and abroad, Andrea, the professional chef of Locanda di Rovicciano, organizes cooking courses of no more than 4 days each. Classes, concerning Italian, local and creative recipes, are given from 9 a.m to 2 p.m and cost € 70,00 per day (lunch included)

APARTAMENTS

Our three apartments, carefully reorganized, have been obtained from the former stables. In this case too, special attention has been given to the materials of the old manor, keeping even the manger intact! In spite of this, we haven't forgot facilities. In fact, all the apartments are equipped with: kitchenette, hi-fi, satellite tv, telephone and internet access.

How to reach us:

Locanda di Rovicciano is located between Montefalco and Castel Ritaldi, in the land of the Nop olive oil and Sagrantino wine, precious and typical products coming from Umbria. If you are looking for a cultural tour, you will discover the close Assisi, Spello and Spoleto or the near Perugia, Gubbio and Orvieto, each of them worthy of attention because of their artistic richness.

Montefalco is situated on the top a beautiful hill in the middle of Clitunno, Topino and Tevere Rivers Valleys and thanks to its location it has been called "The Umbrian Railing". In the surrounding countryside there are many canteens where to taste and enjoy the wonderful Sagrantino wine.

Castel Ritaldi is a picturesque small town risen on a Roman site in 200 A.. Located in the small Rovicciano Valley, it has got an enchanting panoramic view. Moreover, part of its territory is covered by beautiful olive groves which produce one of the most valuable olive oil of this region.

In this area it is possible to play many sports such as archery or horse riding at the nearest riding grounds and schools. You can also enjoy extreme sports such as hand paragliding and gliding on the mountains of the Sibillini National Park or rafting, experiencing exiting downhills canoeing on Nera River along Valnerina gullies.
