Description:
The inn is in the tradition of the ancient storical fanily residence?offering a few select rooms, warm and personal appointments, and elegant, but family atmosphere. Here a family descendent, Luigi Buitoni, will be one's host, and, who, in the Buitoni food tradition as a master cook, can teach Italian cooking for one's edification and delight. In the surrounding beautiful gardens Chef Luigi Buitoni selects the fresh vegetables for his courses in Italian cuisine. The breakfast, set in the splendid dining room, offers the first occasion to taste the pastries and cakes prepared by Chef Buitoni. In the charming landscape, surrounded by the silence, the medieval, walled town of Paciano welcomes one into the countryside of Umbria, the green heart of Italy, just a few kilometres from the beautiful and typical Tuscan Val d'Orcia. Built on the hills of Lake Trasimeno and extraordinarily well-preserved, this tiny village came gradually into existence in the fourteenth century as it grew into a supply town during the construction of a still-standing watchtower to protect Perugia from a southern invasion. Tucked into the corner of the village wall is the Rocca Buitoni (La Locanda), an ancient family residence built in the thirteen hundreds. Today this corner inn symbolizes the peace and tranquillity that epitomizes this niche of the world.
Services:
Master Chef Luigi Buitoni organizes cooking courses in Italian culinary arts in a private kitchen for the guests of the Bed and Breakfast, for the professional cook or the hobbyist, or for anyone who wishes to apply for the course. The courses are customized for a maximum of four to six persons. The experience and the family tradition lavished on the participants by Luigi Buitoni will bring one to appreciate and to learn the secrets of a cuisine done with few selected ingredients, each of which plays a primary role. The attention to detail becomes the essence of the art of cooking. As is logical, the pasta is a great passion for Luigi and his preparation is a skilful talent. As one passes from the garden into the kitchen with the chef, holding the season's produce, the senses will be aroused in anticipation of the realization of the dishes. Chef Luigi will explain the origins and the history of the preparation in detail. And finally, the grand finale will be the tasting of one's own culinary creation complemented by the proper wine in the spellbinding atmosphere of the ancient castle.
